the impt part of you- the heart

Im impressed by a bus driver. He is just an ordinary malay uncle, who drives the same route who-knows-how-many-times-a-day. Im sure you have seen many bus drivers who frown through-out the journey, impatiently honk at other vehicles etc. They must have been fed up seeing the same bus-stops, same route, same traffic jam, everything the same.

The nice malay bus uncle sees the difference - the people boarding the bus (minus some usual passengers). He makes a point to greet all when boarding, no matter if you are chinese, indian , young or old. He puts on a smile even if no one recipocate back (i know how that feels). Yet he has the spirit of joy, though doing the same things. Last night, he got out from the driver's seat and personally helped a blind man down the bus. That is going the extra mile.

Quote from Dr Bernard: Serving is who i am, leading is what i do.

Its been a long time being debriefed by bea last sunday. I mean usually it is about operations, etc. She shared about being considerate and thoughtful towards the person you serve. For us in ministry or workplace, it may be the people below us, our fellow peers and the leaders about us. It is not just about executing the action, but it is about the 'heart'. The bus uncle has definitely put in his heart.
